DPA expects lower fee rates in 2026

Dansk Producentansvar (DPA) has informed companies subject to producer responsibility for packaging, electrical and electronic equipment, single-use plastics and fishing gear about changes to the fee structure and the expected fee rates for 2026.

The final rates are still subject to approval by the Danish Energy Agency, but DPA expects the overall fee rates to be significantly lower than last year:

However, this does not necessarily mean that each company’s invoice will decrease by the same amount. The total depends, among other things, on the quantities placed on the market and, for some product areas, the categories in which the company is registered.

The battery fee has not yet been calculated

DPA has not yet issued a corresponding notice regarding batteries. This is because the fee rate could only be calculated after the reporting period ended on 30 June 2026.

The invoice will be issued by DPA

DPA expects to issue invoices for the quantities reported for 2025 via Digital Post in August or September 2026. Companies will receive one invoice for each product area in which they are registered.

The DPA fee is a statutory administration fee and is separate from the payments companies make to Retur as their collective scheme.

The final fee rates will be published by DPA once they have been approved by the Danish Energy Agency. Questions regarding the notice or invoice should be directed to DPA at +45 39 15 51 61 or info@producentansvar.dk.
