Retur sets clear requirements for everyone who works for or with us. Our Code of Conduct describes the ethical, social and environmental standards that form the basis of our partnerships — from collection and treatment to transport and the sale of end-of-life products.
Retur is one of Denmark’s leading Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs) and manages Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) on behalf of producers of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), batteries, packaging, single-use plastic products and fishing gear containing plastic.
Our Code of Conduct (CoC) describes the requirements we set for all partners and their subcontractors — within the collection, management, treatment, transport and sale of end-of-life products. The CoC is based on our three core principles: environmentally responsible collection and recovery, responsible business conduct with maximum transparency, and the use of efficient and innovative waste treatment solutions.
All partners with an agreement or contract with Retur and our PROs — Elretur, Batteriretur, Fiskeriretur and Emballageretur — are covered. This applies regardless of whether the activity is carried out by the partner itself or by its subcontractors.
All partners are evaluated on an ongoing basis through self-assessments, internal reviews and third-party audits — both announced and unannounced. Retur and any third-party auditors must be given access to all relevant facilities, documents and employees.
Partners that need to improve their practices are required to do so within an agreed timeframe. Retur reserves the right to terminate the partnership if a partner shows a lack of willingness to comply with the requirements of the CoC.
If you are aware of circumstances that constitute a material breach of this CoC — for example suspected financial crime or irregularities in waste management — you can report this anonymously through Retur’s whistleblower scheme.
