  2. What we want

Retur was not created to generate profit for owners. We exist to make Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) work in practice - and to ensure that the products placed on the market are handled responsibly when they become waste.

We want to make EPR a driver of responsible resource management

Retur is a non-profit, member-owned family of Producer Responsibility Organisations (PROs). We help companies meet their EPR obligations in practice — through guidance, digital systems, documentation, collection and treatment.

We work to ensure that products, packaging and materials are handled responsibly when they become waste — and that more resources are reused, recycled and brought back into circulation.

Our purpose

Retur exists to make EPR manageable for companies and to ensure that the products and materials placed on the market are handled responsibly, documented and in accordance with applicable requirements.

As a family of Producer Responsibility Organisations, we bring obligations together across EPR areas. We help companies create an overview, report correctly, document their responsibility and ensure that waste is collected and treated through controlled and legitimate waste flows.

We take responsibility

We document what we do. Traceability, audits, quality and data are the foundation of our work - and of the trust our members must be able to place in us. We work for legitimate waste flows and responsible handling of the products and materials our members place on the market. This requires strong systems, clear agreements and ongoing control throughout the value chain.

We create confidence

EPR is complex, and requirements are constantly evolving. We help companies understand their obligations, comply with the rules and make decisions on an informed basis. As a non-profit, member-owned organisation, we work for transparent and efficient solutions. Our members should be able to understand what we handle on their behalf, what they pay for and how their data is used.

We turn knowledge into action

Our knowledge is one of our most important strengths — but it only creates value when it can be used in practice. We closely follow developments in Denmark and the EU, contribute to dialogue with authorities and partners, and translate legislation, data and requirements into guidance, systems and solutions that help companies move forward safely.

Non-profit and member-owned

Retur was not created to generate profit for owners.

We are owned by our members and work for solutions that are professionally sound, financially responsible and practically useful for the companies covered by EPR.

This means that our task is to manage our members’ obligations in the best possible way - through efficient schemes, strong documentation, proper waste management and solutions that can keep pace as requirements change.

Resources in circulation

Our work is not only about helping companies comply with the rules. It is also about ensuring that products, packaging and materials end up where they create the greatest possible value - as reuse, recycled raw materials or documented material flows, not as uncontrolled waste.

This requires strong systems, solid data, good agreements and constant attention to where handling can be improved. This is the work we carry out every day on behalf of our members.

Sustainability in practice

Retur’s sustainability work lies in the task we were created to solve: ensuring legitimate waste flows, documented collection and responsible treatment of the products, packaging and materials our members place on the market.

Through data, traceability and quality throughout the value chain, we work to ensure that more resources are reused, recycled and brought back into circulation. For us, sustainability is therefore not a separate track alongside EPR - it is part of how EPR should work in practice.
